The name comes from a distant relative — Wolfbear Polenberg — who lived in Eastern Europe in the late 1800s.
When I was 10 years old I cried out "DIBS!" from the back of the room at my grandma's 90th birthday party. My cousin was showing us the fruits of his labor in assembling a comprehensive family tree. Wolfbear Polenberg, the great grandfather of my great aunt, was unveiled and I had never loved a name so much.
While my wife and I opted not to name either of our children Wolfbear, I have always imagined using this name in my life; drawing on my family history to help build our future.
Wolfbear Labs is an extension of me. I draw on my varied professional experience and tap into my broad network to support the entrepreneurs and teams that partner with me. I'll help when I can, identify what I don't know, and pursue answers and direction with the vigor and enthusiasm that only founders posses.
When strategy is uncertain or a call is high-stakes, I sit with you through it — reframing the problem, weighing the trade-offs, zooming in and out to look at possible scenarios, and helping you decide with confidence rather than inertia.

Supported GTM strategy and programs, new product innovation, and corporate development. Led GTM for Klaviyo CDP and the acquisition of Gatsby.
Smartsheet — Director, Strategic Solutions
Led GTM for Smartsheet for Marketing. Built the strategic solutions team and coresponding processes aligning sales, product, and marketing efforts. Supported the acquisition of Brandfolder in 2020.
Slope — COO & Co-Founder
Creative work management platform. Led sales, partnerships, and fundraising. Raised over $2.5M. Acquired by Smartsheet in January 2019.

One of the original 40 fellows; early GTM roles across Cincinnati based startups.
BA in History, Wesleyan University. Former wrestling athlete and assistant coach.
